In what ways does your media products use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of media products?

As my role is the Camera Woman, I have looked at 'Single White Females' where i saw that they use a lot of mid shots and master shots between the two main characters. This I find is very interesting because it shows the close relationship. Also as hey have a close up pf a computer scene, this is similar in 'Hard Candy' as they show the close up of an online conversation. Although we used a this in our trailer, we have added another scene of a lose up of the main character typing on a keyboard. Also we have used a scene where in 'Hard Candy'; they are shown to be at a car park using a wide shot. Even though we used a car park scene, instead of having a wide shot I have used a master shot.

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

We have looked at different posters from our similar media texts and added different ideas on to our poster and magazine. As Diana is the main character, Ihave added her on to the poster but one side shows her good side and the other the bad side. This idea is from the 'Single White Females' but they have the antagonist on one side and the protagonist on the other side. In our group we have added a keyboard with red fonts.


What have you learned from your audience feedback?

In our questionnaire, we have asked our target audience what kind of camera angles they would loke to see and found out that they would like to see more tracking. Using this information we have included in our trailer lot of tracking. Also we shown them different magazine covers to see what they would prefer and majority has chosen 'Empire'.

How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

The internet has been very helpful as we had full access to YouTube. We have used YouTube to analyse the trailer of our similar media texts. Also because of the internet, we have made blogs to show all our research, shotlists, grapghs and our final products. To make the trailer, we have used HD cameras as this made our trailermore better quality. Also to edit the trailer, we have used Adobe Premier Elements. T o make the ancillary tasks, we have used Photoshop. At first this was hard for me because it was my first time using this but after practising and experimenting each tool it became easier.
